Duels

Free duels and staked duels: who you can challenge, what a win pays, and when stakes go back.

A duel#

A duel is you against one other player in a game you're both in, on opposite sides. Whoever's pick finishes ahead wins the duel. If the game is called off, so is the duel.

You can challenge a player while the game is open. A challenge not taken by the time picks close expires.

Free duels#

No money moves: a free duel is for the record and the bragging rights.

Staked duels#

In a Ticker Battle or an Up or Down game, you can put a stake on a duel.

  • Both players stake the same amount, from $1 to $1,000.
  • The winner takes both stakes, less a 2% fee. On $5 against $5, the winner gets $9.80.
  • If the game is called off, both stakes go back in full, with no fee.

Stakes are held until the game is decided, then paid to the winner.
