Economic Contribution

What counts, what doesn't, and why Genesis scores fees with diminishing returns rather than volume.

On this page

Economic Contribution measures legitimate finalized protocol economics attributable to a user.

The pool
46,000,000$PRO
Of maximum supply

What counts#

Finalized fees from Ticker Battle, Market Royale and Up or Down, and other qualifying Prophecy products. Only realized, non-refunded protocol fees count.

What does not count#

  • a deposit balance
  • a withdrawal amount
  • gross wager volume by itself
  • positions not yet decided
  • player losses
  • fees refunded because a game was called off
  • promotional credit by itself

A winner and a loser#

If two users create the same legitimate finalized protocol fee, their base Economic Contribution treatment is the same. Genesis does not reward one of them simply because that user lost.

Diminishing returns#

Economic Contribution is intentionally not linear. Without diminishing returns, the largest spender could dominate the pool. The exact formula and its caps are fixed in the Genesis rules before Genesis begins.

Why fees instead of volume?#

Volume can be manufactured. Fees are costly to manufacture. Using finalized protocol economics, with diminishing returns and integrity checks, makes simple wash farming much less attractive.
